| From the mystical west coast of Canada comes the soulful young artist SHERRI-ANNE. After only months of seriously pursuing her vision of reaching millions with her powerful musical message, Sherri-Anne has managed to consistently fill Chicago venues with her “soul sister” Bird, have radioplay on several Illinois radio stations with her “Dear Life” demo, book a WEST COAST tour, and take up an offer to record a FULL Album with the Indie BC Label “Canyon Edge Records.” Her passion for sharing honest music really kicked off after an “Okanagan Idol” contest in her home town, where she insisted on playing original songs with a powerful message regardless of the nature of the contest. Her courage resulted in her recording several acoustic tracks, and she was featured on the “Okanagan Idol” music compilation album in 2003 as the only artist with an original song. Then a couple years later, Okanagan folk celebrity Tom Stinson presented the opportunity for her to record the full band “Dear Life demo” with Cabin Fever Studios in Kelowna, BC Canada. With the help of local metal guitarist Trevor Hutton and Montreal drummer Liam O’Neil (Young Galaxy, Mothers and Fathers), they were able to comprise her first demo in 2006. The unique 5-track “Dear Life demo” combines a raw honesty of her University experience with an insatiable compassion for humanity. Since graduation, her powerful musical vision is revealing itself more clearly than ever before. “After four years of a both amazing and tumultuous University experience in the States, my passion for music has began to consume me and ignited a fire in my soul to share life’s inspirations with others. It was a Missy Higgins concert this past October that really propelled me to move on from a job I wasn’t happy with and start booking shows, tour, and share this true passion with the world.” Sherri-Anne’s passions are certainly reaching a wide array of people. Within a week of this realization Chicago opened its arms and Sherri-Anne and her “soul sister” Bird, an incredibly talented Ohio vocalist, mesmerized Chicago. After two months of consistently playing in the Windy City, she played throughout British Columbia. She arrived in Kelowna to a SOLD OUT songwriters showcase and shocked the crowd with her contagious presence. ShawTV caught one glimpse and interviewed her to promote her upcoming BC shows. Upon her return “Sherri-Anne and Bird” played to a packed house in Chicago. This Spring the duo rocked out with Indiana’s famous Homeless J, and the eclectic, musical genius Nicole Torres from Colorado joined the duo in Chicago. |
